MMA Flooring

Methyl methacrylate (MMA) flooring offers ultra-rapid curing, even at low temperatures, along with excellent chemical resistance, UV stability and seamless durability. It’s ideal for cold stores, car park decks, food processing and busy sites across Ireland that can’t afford to close for long.

When to choose MMA over epoxy

The big advantage of MMA is speed. Where epoxy and polyurethane systems need a day or more before they can be used, MMA systems typically cure in around an hour or two, and they keep curing at temperatures where other resins won’t. That makes MMA the go-to choice for supermarkets, kitchens, cold rooms and any area that must reopen quickly.

MMA has a strong odour while it’s being applied, so we plan ventilation and timing carefully, often working overnight or over a weekend so your site is ready for the next shift.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can we walk on an MMA floor?

MMA systems typically cure within an hour or two of application, depending on the product and temperature, so many areas can be back in service the same day.

Can MMA be installed in a working freezer?

MMA is one of the few resin types that cures reliably at low temperatures, which is why it’s commonly used in cold stores and chillers. We’ll confirm suitability after a site visit.

Does MMA smell?

Yes, MMA has a strong odour during installation, which clears once it has cured. We manage this with ventilation and by scheduling work around your operations.
